Legacy ID: Replaced with Unique Universal Identifiers (UUID)

We’re Improving the Security of our Database - Here’s What It Means For You.

What is happening?

Over the coming weeks you might notice a change in the URL bar of your browser when using Clockwork. In keeping with the latest security best practices, we are updating our database structure with new Unique Universal Identifiers (UUID) for Objects like Deals, Companies, Projects, and more. This change means that all URLs for those Objects will also change.

Any legacy link will remain active and will redirect to the new UUID link structure until 19 September 2023. After 19 September 2023 the legacy links will no longer redirect and will sunset from the platform.

How does this affect me?

For most Clockwork users, this will have little to no impact on how you use Clockwork. It will only be a visual change in your browser’s URL which you may not even notice.

For example, Clockwork Deals have already been updated to the new UUID link format.

As for other pages where this change will take effect, please see the below timeline. Remember that any existing links will continue to redirect to new UUID links until 19 September 2023.

Is there anything I need to do?

If you use the API in Clockwork for any integrations - you will need to reach out to your developer or API partner to determine which uses or areas (if any) will be impacted. Let them know that all legacy links will redirect to new UUID links until 19 September 2023, but the API will need to be updated with new UUID links prior to this date.

If you bookmarked any Clockwork pages (Projects, Deals, Companies, etc.) in your web browser - you will need to create a new bookmark with the new UUID link before 19 September 2023. Currently, all legacy links will redirect to new UUID links until 19 September 2023. After this date, legacy links will sunset from the platform and redirects to new UUID links will no longer work.

If you report on Clockwork Objects in a third-party system (Google Sheets, Excel, AirTable, etc.) - you will need to map the legacy IDs to the New UUIDs. If you need help with this mapping, please contact support@clockworkrecruiting.com.

Please assure these links are all updated where necessary prior to 19 September 2023.

What This Will Not Impact:

Your use of the Clockwork product. You do not need to worry about losing your projects or data within the platform and you do not need to worry about clients or team members losing access to projects, portals, candidates, etc. This will only impact externally saved links (outside of Clockwork) for example in your web browser’s bookmarks or if you have saved any links or references for Objects with the legacy ID and not the UUID  in documents, spreadsheets, or other applications.

When Is This Happening?

Remember, all legacy links will redirect to the new UUID links until 19 September 2023.

After 19 September 2023 all legacy links or redirects will no longer work and must be updated.

Below is a timeline for when we are rolling out the new UUID link structure within Clockwork.
